A tooth is missing

Mein Spatz is turning five in May and has lost his first tooth.
Today I bought him a beautiful Red Gum mushroom.
A special treasure box for his tooth that the Fairy can find tonight.
We had to write the Fairy a note, he wants to keep it to take to Kindergarten when he goes back this year. I am sure the Fairy will leave a beautiful crystal after she has had a good look at his tooth.

"At about the seventh year the human being is actually born a second time; that is to say, his etheric body is born to free activity just as his physical body is at the moment of physical birth. As before birth the mother’s body works on the human embryo, up to the change of teeth spiritual forces of the cosmic ether in a similar way work upon the etheric body of the human being, and about the seventh year these forces are thrust back just as the maternal body is at the time of birth. Up to the seventh year the etheric body is as if latent in the physical body, and about the time the teeth are changed what happens to the etheric body can be compared to the igniting of a match. It is bound up with the physical body, but now comes to its own free, independent activity. The signal for this free activity of the etheric body is indeed the change of teeth. For anyone who has a deeper insight into nature this change of teeth holds a quite special place."

-Rudolf Steiner, Berlin, 13 December 1906.

Setting up the nativity

Mein Spatz covered the table with a green cloth.
 First the stable.
Then, Jesus and his parents.
And finally, the plants and animals.
He then played with the scene for a while.
Making sure that all of the animals got a drink from the trough.
And then he placed Jesus on Mary's knee for a cuddle.
Henry then gave it his "snout of approval".
Glowing in the room at night.
It adds a sense of calm and reflection to the night.

We play

 This is Mein Spatz's playroom.
He sleeps in the family bed.
Uncle Ben, I still love playing with this.
 Cooking.
And small world play.

Summer in Germany

We are in Germany visiting Vati's family.
The weather has been ordinary - to say the least.
We have been on a caravan holiday for a week at the Baltic sea in stormy weather.
We are the proud owners of our own set of wheels - and did I tell you it has a sun roof.
Mein Spatz loves it.
With a rabbit outside our caravan door - every evening.

Picking red currants by the road, down a country lane.
Asparagus in the fields.

Birthday boy

Mein Spatz is four

Yesterday we spent a beautiful day together celebrating Mein Spatz's Fourth birthday.
It was just our little family with a special guest-Grandma.

He wanted to take a helicopter flight for his present.

He flew with Vati for a 10 minute tour of the Barossa Valley.
My feet stayed firmly planted on the Earth.

It was a glorious day.

Grandma's Scooter was a great hit also.

Sleep well, dream well.

Sleep baby, sleep.
Thy Father counts the sheep.
Thy Mother shakes the dreamland tree,
to send a little dream to thee.
Sleep, baby sleep.

We sleep together as a family.
We have a queen-bed with a king-single side by side.

We sleep well.
Just like our ancestors did.
Relying and trusting our mammalian linage.

Mein Spatz is firmly planted between the two people who love him most in the whole wide world.
Mama and Vati.

This will continue until our child is ready to sleep alone and wants his own space.

Maybe he wonders..... just as I did as a child......... where will his beloved fit when he gets married and has children?

The dreams and the bed can only get bigger.

Henry lays on his own side-car mattress on the floor beside our bed, guarding and protecting his pack.
Now that the cooler weather has kicked in he often sneaks up during the night and always finds the weakest link-Vati and snuggles under the covers.

Something special from a friend

At our post office this was waiting for us today.
Our lovely friends from stillparenting sent it for our nature table.
A lovely idea as Australian customs can be very strict.
We sent them some seed pods.

Dear Arianne,
Thank you for the wonderful photographs of native birds taken from your surroundings.
They will make a special addition to our nature table.
We have not met but I feel like I know you really well from your blog.
I feel like we are soul sisters.
I hope to become more descriptive and creative, as you are, the more that I write.
Sending you love and light from Adelaide, Australia.
 Angela

On another note, Mein Spatz and I have been house bound with the flu this week, a bit of cabin fever and hair dressing clippers turned this face into this..........

I don't think it suits him.
He looks a little rough and tough.

He said "That doesn't look like me Ernst-Wilhelm!"
But it does make him eyes look like chocolate drops.

Been busy

I have found a new love.........
and fallen deeply.......   deeply..........
neglecting child, husband, dog, blog and dishwasher.

Who is it you ask?

The French man who liked the look of my blog picture and e-mailed me?
...... Nah !!!!

Who then?
It is a "what"
Dry felting

Mein Spatz loves poking at things- just like his Mama.
A little secret is....sh!
He loves the feeling of poking his fingers into watermelon wrapped in plastic in the grocers.

Just a little look as it is for a season table swap
I am involved in and posting tomorrow.

 See you soon ....
x
