Setting up the nativity

Mein Spatz covered the table with a green cloth.
 First the stable.
Then, Jesus and his parents.
And finally, the plants and animals.
He then played with the scene for a while.
Making sure that all of the animals got a drink from the trough.
And then he placed Jesus on Mary's knee for a cuddle.
Henry then gave it his "snout of approval".
Glowing in the room at night.
It adds a sense of calm and reflection to the night.

From our Garden

This is our first year of harvest from our small vegetable patch and a few pots.
Nothing ever tasted so good!

We have
  • tomato
  • Strawberries
  • corn
  • apple cucumber
  • eggplant
  • beetroot
  • basil
  • parsley
  • dill
  • rocket
  • lemon balm
  • Sunflowers

Mein Spatz loves eating tomatoes from our bushes and picking salad leaves, dill and parsley.

When back inside he likes to make a dressing with balsamic vinegar and a little sugar.Yum!

And as always, where there is food there is Henry.

It's a dogs life

Our ten year old dog Henry (Boarder Collie Cross) is an important part of our life, like most loved pets.

As our fur kid for 7 years he has taught us a lot about loving, learning, laughing and being a family.

Yesterday we spent a lovely day at the beach swimming and keeping cool in the heat.
Henry is part fish and loves swimming, he times it well when jumping over the waves and swims in big circles.
It is a wonderful exercise for him as last year he had a knee replacement.
